vision
I think myself as a strange combination of a director together with an empirical scientist. I'm committed to create a whole in a single outcome : a release, a publication, an exhibition or an installation.
The incubation phase is about writing, doing long research, infusing and refining the ideas. To do so, experimentation is important. It allows to discard unfitting options to focus on the core of the blend. When the whole is starting to come together, I feel utterly compelled to go to the outer world to meet and let people get on board. They would eventually be coworkers.
All coalesced into the core ideas of the project we work toward that outcome until we have the feeling that we're ready.
operational research
When immerged in a all new environment or ecosystem, rather than just taking, as you take a picture, you take a shot, you record sound, I try to interact with it and in it, something reciprocal and above all : holistic. Adaptation is important here. It is a key process that all comes.
Plain reality with its often sleek surface doesn't stir my rawest emotions, however it starts agitating when the enigma of a different lifestyle (language, culture, identity) is getting familiar, when the codes break up. As a matter of fact, reaching deeper levels of understanding has become natural and uncontrolled.
I'm the recording instrument, I let my guard down so that I'm entirely absorbed. Then the ideas and concepts are derived of that process. The carrying-out is therefore highly personal depending on who I am as an individual being more and more aware of the world as it is.
Once recorded on the field, data are sorted, analyzed, organized as in tree-decision forecasting or making. Eventually and hopefully, when this process ends, a few refined ideas emerge and they dictate everything.
