current headline : spatialized

I'm refreshed, wiser and with a greater self-consciousness. The next few weeks I'm doing a residency at the University of Science, where I first studied, later graduating from a BA Maths in 2007.

It is kind of a big spill of emotions to be around again. The daily tasks are all about sound, creating fresh material and also, programming an advanced spatialization system of 8 voices.

More is to come very soon as Projective Spaces is coming to fruition next January the 16th 2012 !

There's more psychogeographical material available. Today you can download the leaflet that we distributed before the festival "Multiples Bordeaux". It was a collaboration with graphic designer Marion Alfano.

Original copy, A3 format, French, May 2010.

A quick update from Montalivet, France. It's been just less than a month that I got back from Iceland. Recent readings about psychogeography and I couldn't help reaximining Multiple Bordeaux and the document I made then published last winter. I mostly refined the visual aspect of the document for further use.

In fact Multiple Bordeaux reflected various key-ideas which psychogeographers brilliantly verbalize. I also pushed the enveloppe and translated the catalogue into French. Both are available for download now.

Lighter lighter lighter. 3 months and ten days later.

The creative stay ended yesterday and the overall experience was truly magical. I learnt the group dynamics theory, met new friends, put up coalescing group shows, was fascinated by the Swedish and Norwegian languages, was often unpleased with a certain american bravado, loved every single party, texting friends in Icelandic and many many many more.

Mission accomplished : projective spaces was put up in an experimental form in an attempt of not just stay and take but also give. And I was extremely thrilled to share with Icelanders. The outcome is a collaboration with Tobias Oeckler and also the great help of Ella Bertilsson and Eric Ehrnschwender.

Now it is the time to leave the city and retreat to holism.

Here are a few key updates :

- As soon as I can, an archival/stock section will be put up containing the pictures that I made the past 9 years. Key defining moments along my path would then appear. But I'd need to be back in France first.

- My statement, vision and operational research have been refined and they all appear in the profile section.

- I'm now a member of the artist collective Operation France, based in Chicago, USA.

So eventually the full website is available... Lazy me ! The increased daylight is bringing new and raw energy for the months to come.

Also, a little bit of refinement for the photo galleries ! Less distraction and wider canvases.

March the 1st, 2011

I've been putting in the hardwork the past weeks and finally got a clear picture of an ongoing project entitled Projective Spaces. To be featured, shown at some place and sometime !

Stay tuned !

Being an artist-in-residence, I first redesigned my website and filled the sections, also implemented a flash gallery. It's about graphic design and I love graphic design !

Just finished updating the installations section and put up a project in the still images section.

Guess what, today I've been living in Iceland for four months ! That day also marks the birth of a new life as I just moved in an apartment in Reykjavík for the creative stay I introduced earlier. I spent the New Year's eve in Akranes with an Icelandic friend. I got such a vivid insight into icelandic youngster customaries such as ''rúntur'', ''brunchner'' (breakfast-lunch-diner all in one meal) and the last but not least, being ''blindfullur''. I'm in Reykjavík the next two months and I can't be any happier than that ! Warm wishes from Iceland ! Happy new year !

This is short transmission from Turin, Italy. Today I've been living in Iceland for almost two months and I've liked everything I did, experienced, deep people I met there too. That retreat to Turin turns out to be mandatory, it feels so good to stay a couple of days in a place where I can understand the codes, and where life is that sweet ! It is in such stark constrast with Iceland, where almost everything is rough, unspoiled, untouched. But Iceland is too magical to leave. I wish I could stay just a little bit longer in Italy though and actually lived here someday.

August the 30th, 2010

D - 4. I depart on Friday. It is a single way trip to Iceland where I intend to live and work a whole year, the whole next year actually. I'll be an artist in residency next Jan - Feb 2011 and be carrying out various projects before and after that residency.

June the 11th, 2010

I'm done with Multiple Bordeaux, a city-wide exhibition and festival for the visual arts. I managed to go through a dense organization thing. Really dense. Now it is the right time to get on my thesis. More is to come shortly.

Just working the website and wanted to publish the whole thing.

February the sixth, 2010

You may be experiencing troubles browsing the website.

February the fourth, 2010. Piece of a larger statement I'm currently assembling

This is the brand new layout of my website, this is no longer the portfolio of a photographer only, it was first intended to be. Photography is still and will remain my main drive.

What I achieved in the past was essentially gathering hints of a mysterious path I'm inclined to follow each day. That path is definitely non-linear and these hints don't show off what's next. I've not undertook pure art courses nor have I studied photography or photojournalism. But hints eventually start to patchwork in connection, building my identity on a broader scale. I just seek for my own path, my own truth, in art, yes art, so that it may take very different forms. In fact I seek a way broader field where ideas are more important than pure medium-wise matters.

That brand new layout does reflect it. Spring is bringing new colorful perspectives. Indeed I'm not interested in pure photographic objects and matters anymore. Therefore, the carrying out of thoughts takes different forms yet remains visual. Today my approach encompasses different mediums but still, I wish to transcribe things visually.

I like the word holism. That word convey so much different subject areas but do apply in particular to what I'm dedicated to do from now on. Holistic approaches is now what truly matters to me.

Please, I'm not giving up photography at all. Photography is my main medium, I felt in love with the process. The thing is I just want to use its power, its poetic feature not specifically, didactically.

It is even odd to me to rethink my practice that way. Let's turn to the next page.

Still working hard !
